Emma Raducanu concludes the current season and has decided to continue with her coach into the 2026 season.

Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four major tournaments this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her remaining competitions of the year due to a health issue she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to recover ahead of launching next year's training.

Those preparations will include trainer Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the third set in the match with Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.

Such performances meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points before losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

Raducanu won twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She worked with Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in in the coming months.

Raducanu told that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
