Salah Offers Statement to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match following voicing frustrations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the situation. He feels the outburst were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and on a positive run.”
