Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans had expressed condolences for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
